About Octavia Tomyn
Octavia is a Melbourne based artist who previously worked as a designer in the fashion industry for over 12 years. She has worked for some of Australia’s biggest retailers as well as high end international designers such as Marc Jacobs and Christopher Kane in New York and London. Octavia has now returned to the creative expression and art form that she developed during her school and Bachelor of Design years.
Since beginning her art business in 2018, Octavia has created a strong demand for commissioned work and sold her art to collectors in over 29 countries. Octavia has enjoyed working with other designers, creators and businesses to create collaborative products featuring her art. Octavia held her first solo exhibition in Melbourne during April 2023.
Several of Octavia’s works have been featured in various media, including print and television, as well as being selected by designers for homes, hotels and hospitality venues.
Octavia’s current work is inspired by her life as a mother, woman, extrovert and Christian. She explores the complex and intimate relationships, connections and stories of people, using symbolism, line and figurative body language to convey intimate and universal human truths.
