Embers
Embers
A piece about growth, regeneration, seasons of life and love. The three figures interact through intimate gestures of vulnerability, sacrifice and care. They are individual but also one; their bodies morphing , connecting and blooming from one another, illustrating the journey of the individual but also the power of community.
Areas of transparency with remnants of charcoal lines, suggest echoes of lived experiences, resulting in fragility and openness; while the forms are organic, cocooning and defined, symbolising protection and strength in unity.
The moonlight symbolises the sacredness of their evolution and culmination of moments. Each figure appears dusted in stardust, an ode to their divine nature.
Tiny burning embers dance around the figures representing prayers, dreams and dozens of everyday kindnesses - little blessings and offerings of gratitude.
Oil on canvas and charcoal hand made by my friend from local Australian trees.
